Coordinating Conjunctions
Mastering the Connectors 🚀
A coordinating conjunction is a word that connects two or more grammatical elements of equal rank. They level up your sentences by joining words, phrases, or independent clauses.
To hack your memory and remember the seven coordinating conjunctions in English, just remember the acronym FANBOYS.
Pro Tip: When a coordinating conjunction joins two independent clauses (two full sentences that could stand alone), you must place a comma right before the conjunction!
